[Partner] Statement on Recent Executive Orders and Their Potential Impact on the Filipino American Community
Washington, D.C. – The National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) acknowledges the recent rescission of executive orders by President Donald Trump, detailed in the official statement from the White House: Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions. While we recognize the administration’s stated intent to streamline governance, specific changes have raised significant concerns within the Filipino American and broader Asian American communities.
These rescissions impact orders protecting workplace diversity initiatives, supporting immigrant families, and combating discrimination. Such changes pose challenges to our shared values of inclusion and equity.
NaFFAA unequivocally opposes any policy that may exacerbate fear, discrimination, or marginalization. Hate has no place in our communities, and we must remain vigilant against policies that may erode the rights and protections of Filipino Americans and other communities of color.
NaFFAA has actively engaged with partner organizations, such as the Filipino American Legal Defense and Education Fund (FALDEF), to stay informed on critical developments and strengthen collaborative efforts. We are working closely with advocacy allies and legal experts to monitor changes, provide resources, and support our community members.
We encourage everyone to stay informed and hopeful. NaFFAA remains committed to advocating for the safety, dignity, and inclusion of every Filipino American, amplifying the voices of those most affected.
The National Council of Asian Pacific Americans (NCAPA) has created a list of resources and guidance to help navigate these uncertain times. We invite our regional chapters and community partners to contribute additional events or resources to ensure comprehensive support for our Filipino American community. Please inform us of any initiatives and events happening in your regions and states so that we can strengthen our collective efforts further.
Together, as a united community, we remain resilient and dedicated to building a secure and inclusive future for all.
Call to Action
Now, more than ever, we urge members of the Filipino American community to unite, educate, and advocate. Reach out to your local representatives, stay informed on policy changes, and stand against hate in all its forms. Together, we can continue to build a nation that celebrates diversity and ensures opportunities for all.
NaFFAA remains committed to empowering Filipino Americans and will continue to champion the values of equity, inclusion, and justice for all.
