Los Angeles-based Filipino American media pioneer gives spotlight to single moms
Los Angeles-based Filipino American media pioneer Jannelle So Perkins is giving the spotlight to single moms on Sunday.
In the face of the pandemic that has affected many physically, emotionally, and mentally, especially in their homes, divorces all over the world have increased, and the number of single-parent households has also increased.
The executive producer-host is gathering a panel of single mothers who can share the mind shifts, best practices, and benefits of being a single mom, and what can be done to get through challenges, struggles, and road bumps so that children born and raised in the pandemic can grow to be empathetic and well-adjusted humans.
With resource speakers ranging from their 30s to their 70s, raising one to five kids on their own, Spotlight: Moms on a Mission is meant to be an open, meaningful, and helpful dialogue about things that are relevant, raw, and real.
Proud single mothers Rocio Nuyda, Liza Flores Wayne, Melanie Caoile, Charina Carrera, Marie Reyes, and Arianna Basco will discuss everything from small steps to break-throughs to help single parents cope. They are moms on a mission – to break the stigma, raise well-rounded children, and be there for one another.
Tune in and RSVP for free at sojannelle.com/events to engage with the panelists and resource expert, Dr. Janis Manalang, Chief Executive Director/Clinical Director / Owner of the Key Center in Virginia.
“I love gathering people to meet one another. It gives us a richer experience as we hear shared experiences. What I love the most are our open mic sessions where we ask our audience to “unmute” so we can also hear their thoughts and insights after our panelists speak,” said FilAm Media Pioneer, Jannelle So.
“We will hear about the extraordinary strength and courage of single moms and the support they need and can give. How they do what they do and what we can learn from one another,” So added.
The webinar will go live on May 23, 2021, Sunday, 10 am in Manila (May 22nd (Saturday) at 7 pm to 8 pm Pacific, 10 pm to 11 pm Eastern), with live stream viewing on Facebook.com/sojannelletv and participants who register on Zoom can participate when we open the mic.:)
