Ateneo, TAU join DLSU, UST, Mapua in THE University Impact Rankings
Ateneo de Manila University and Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) have entered this year’s University Impact Rankings by the Times Higher Education (THE), joining previously-ranked De La Salle University (DLSU), University of Santo Tomas (UST), and Mapua University.
Ateneo debuted strong as the leading Philippine university in the third edition of THE World University’s Impact Rankings, with the highest overall Impact Rankings placement of any Philippine institution since the results table was inaugurated in 2019.
TAU is the only state university to be included in the impact ranking.
In its inaugural edition, DLSU was the only university from the Philippines that made it to THE University Impact Rankings list in 2019. UST and Mapua joined DLSU in the 2020 edition of THE World University Impact Rankings, “the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)”.
This year, a total of 1,115 universities from 94 countries and regions took part in the rankings and were ranked and reviewed by the Times Higher Education.
The 5 Philippine universities rankings in the 2021 list:
- Ateneo de Manila in the 201-300 bracket, the highest-ranked Philippine institution in 2021
- De La Salle University in the 401-600 bracket
- University of Santo Tomas in the 601-800 bracket
- Tarlac Agricultural University in the 601-800 bracket
- Mapua University in the 801-1000 bracket
Ateneo de Manila ranked high in the following SDGs:
- SDG 17: Partnerships for Goals (68)
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (101-200)
- SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities (101-200)
- SDG 3: Good health and well-being (101-200)
De La Salle University was ranked in the following SDGs:
- SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation (101-200)
- SDG 14: Life Below Water (101-200)
- SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (401-600)
- SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals (301-400)
University of Santo Tomas ranked high in the following SDGs:
- SDG 4: Quality Education
- SDG 3: Good health and well-being
- SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
- SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals
The top three SDGs for Tarlac Agricultural University are:
- SDG 1: No Poverty
- SDG 4: Quality Education
- SDG 5: Gender Equality
Mapua University ranked high in the following SDGs:
- SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
- SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
- SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
- SDG 17: Partnership for the Goals
