The Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra (MSJO) has bagged the gold award in the online edition of the Vienna-based World Orchestra Festival (WOF).

The MSJO won the gold award in the Youth Orchestra Category B of the competition from June 12 to 26, 2021, which were held as virtual events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Philippines’ premier youth orchestra competed against over 140 orchestras from 33 countries which submitted video entries for the online festival.

MSJO’s winning entry was their performance at the Youngsan Art Hall in Seoul, Korea in 2019. The competition pieces include 3 movements from Dvoraks’ Serenade in E (Moderato, Scherzo, and Finale).

The World Orchestra Festival was established in 2013 in Vienna, Austria, to provide a world top stage for musicians to perform and exhibit.
