FREE WEBINAR: Science, Technology, and Innovation Journalism in 4th Industrial Revolution
A free webinar on Science, Technology, and Innovation Journalism in the 4th Industrial Revolution is going live on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, to mark World Press Freedom Day.
The discussions cover the use of the Internet as a platform to communicate simple science concepts, the challenges of positive reporting, the use of media to encourage local startup founders, businesses, and entrepreneurs to engage in innovation-based ventures, the use of critical journalism to convince policymakers to prioritize or improve the science and technology sector, and the different country-approaches in promoting science, technology, and innovation.
The gathering of science journalists and media champions is this month’s feature in the “Makers without Borders” webinar series of the United States Embassy’s American Spaces Philippines. Fab Labs Philippines, Fab Lab Mindanao, and the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology are cooperating partners for this episode.
Organized by Fab Lab Mindanao Director Archie Velasco, the free webinar held in observation of World Press Freedom Day on May 3 will feature the following panelists:

Moderated by the Department of Science and Technology Philippines (DOST Philippines) Information Officer Enrico Belga, Jr., the program will be graced by DOST Secretary Fortunato dela Peña and John Law, Chargé d’affaires of the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines.
