The “Fiesta Filipinas” online event series will be simulating all the experiences of Philippine festivals to bring Filipino culture and celebrations closer to Filipinos around the world despite the limitations of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs’ (DFA) statement released on December 7, 2020, the innovative approach will be a six-part, multi-format virtual series that was launched in cooperation with the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) to help maintain and introduce Philippine festivals, culture, and traditions to a global audience.

“Fiesta Filipinas: An Online Celebration of Philippine Festivals” will employ a combination of live and pre-recorded videos of the festival location and the previous year’s celebration as well as online workshops and activities through December 2020 until May 2021.

Here is the line-up for the upcoming “Fiesta Filipinas” virtual events for 2020 and 2021:

  • Giant Lantern Parade (19 December 2020)
  • Sinulog, Ati-Atihan, and Dinagyang Festivals (30 January 2021)
  • Panagbenga Festival (27 February 2021)
  • Visita Iglesia (20 March 2021)
  • Lami-Lamihan Festival (24 April 2021)
  • Flores De Mayo / Santacruzan (29 May 2021)
